Odyssey Information
Next Western Australian Ulysses Odyssey
to be hosted by Armadale Branch
27th - 30th October 2011
The final countdown to the Odyssey has begun. Registration numbers look like being around the 220 - 230 mark.
There will be quite a few extra powered sites available and will be on a first come first served basis. Those who had requested power for medical reasons will have there site reserved.
One the Friday and Saturday nights with your BYO drinks. There will be a large walk-in coolroom for individual drinks if you do not have an esky. We are organizing a bagging and tagging system for your drinks and a system to monitor who takes what.
Along with all the organized events for the weekend if you are looking for something to do there is the 120th ANNUAL WAMMCO INTERNATIONAL KATANNING SHOW, Saturday 29th October 2011.
A local Shire Bus is being organized to do Town tours. Gold coin donation for these, money going to local charity. Times to be advised.
Tea and coffee making facilities will be set up at the registration building throughout the weekend for Odyssey goers. Tea, coffee, milk and sugar provided. BYO making if you are fussy about your brand or blend.
The ATMs in Wagin are notoriously bad, on our last planning visit none were working. At other times they are fine. Luck of the draw! Plan ahead and come prepared if you need cash for the weekend.
The weather in Wagin can still get a bit cool overnight (click for info).
The 2011 Odyssey will be held at Wagin.
As the Commonwealth Heads of Government (CHOGM) meeting is being held in Perth the WA State Government
has moved the Queen's Birthday long weekend to the end of October. Instead of the usual Saturday,
Sunday and Monday long weekend, this year it will be held over a Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Where a large number of people would start their Odyssey by arriving on the Friday night,
ready for a Saturday start, this year you will be able to arrive on the Thursday night ready for a Friday Odyssey.

WAGIN
Home of the Woolorama and the Giant Ram
Armadale Heritage Branch has chosen Wagin because of the outstanding venue and enthusiastic
help and facilities being provided by the Shire Council. It is conveniently located for most
Branches and will provide rides and tours in areas that we frequent less often.
The whole town is enthusiastically helping to make our stay a great one.
Registration
Registrations are now available (click here for form) and more
information such as event program will be made available online and via Branch Secretaries
at a later date.
Note: The $20.00 per person option in the registration form is for registration only.
It is for those who will be organising their own hard accommodation.
